It can't work

There are things that shape us. Things we believe. Things that define what happens to us. They are ... what we believe.

Tragically, there are two different types of belief. The logical, thoughtful beliefs, and beliefs based on experiences. The logical is always in our conscious mind. It is how we have made sense of the many events we have seen. They are what we use to make announcable decisions. As you will learn, they are the weaker of the two. The powerhouse, the experiential beliefs, rarely overtly show themselves. They are fed by a the unconscious soup of our past. There is evidence of them all over our lives. The best way to become aware of them is to see their effects. They are usually different than our logical beliefs, so they have been hidden by our mind. The Bible calls it your heart. The shrinks call it your unconscious. But every time we act irrationally, every time our walk is different than our talk, it is because of these experiential beliefs.

So, we are divided. Divided because of the profound difference between the our logical and experiential beliefs.

Can we work out the differences? Is there any reason to? What is the impact of this dividedness? Is this simply excessive navel-gazing? Why has the mind hidden so much? Were we created this way? Shouldn't we leave" well enough" alone? Can't we just force ourselves?

So many more questions. So many lies that we accept as truth. Lies like the title... Why does it sound so true?
